So this is it
The life I didn't choose
The choices I didn't make
The decision that wasn't mine
Thrust upon me
By bleeding hands
Who thought they knew best
But in the end
This is how it is
So who are they to say
That this is best
That this is right
That this is how it should be
When they are too torn
Broken beyond recognition
To even see beyond their front door?
When the wind blows
And the sun sets
The seasons change
But that is all
And this is how it is
In the end

So this is it
The life they didn't choose
The choices they didn't make
The decisions that weren't theirs
Thrust upon them
By their own bleeding hands
Who thought they knew best
But in the end
This is how it is
So who were they to say
That this is best
That this is right
That this is how it should be
When they are too irresponsable
When they are too childish
To accept life's consequences?
When the wind blows
And the sun rises
The seasons change
But that is all
And this is how
It will all remain
